Description
The City of Hickory is soliciting bids for construction of the Northwest Sewer Extension to serve the currently undeveloped Hickory Innovation District. The project includes a 0.36 MGD duplex wastewater lift station with SCADA, approximately 3,940 linear feet of 8-inch PVC gravity sewer and manholes, including a 91-foot aerial crossing, and approximately 1,370 linear feet of 6-inch HDPE force main connecting to an existing gravity sewer. The contractor must provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, incidentals, and related construction work, as well as construction permit fees. The project also includes soil and concrete testing and construction permit allowances totaling $30,000. Substantial completion is required within 360 calendar days after notice to proceed, with final completion within 390 calendar days. The apparent low bidder must submit a statement of qualifications within five days after bid opening. All bidders must submit or execute the bid bond, Non-Collusive Affidavit, E-Verify Affidavit, Iran Divestment Act Certification, and applicable SRF good-faith-effort documentation. Addendum No. 1 removes Appendix B SRF requirements, confirms there are no Build America, Buy America requirements, and requires acknowledgment of the addendum on the Bid Form. The engineer’s estimate is approximately $4.3 million, and liquidated damages are $500 per day for substantial and final completion.
