Description
The City of Ocala seeks a qualified Florida-licensed general, residential, or building contractor to demolish and remove the structure at 540 NW 3rd Avenue, including its contents, improvements, overgrowth, structural debris, and junk. The contractor must provide all labor and equipment, terminate water and sewer connections, properly dispose of all removed materials, grade the site, and preserve existing trees, sidewalks, and driveway aprons. Any fuel tanks, septic tanks, or wells encountered must be handled in accordance with applicable requirements. The contractor must obtain required demolition and septic permits, comply with asbestos, OSHA, environmental, and other applicable regulations, and complete the work within 60 days after the City's Notice to Proceed. The solicitation requires a lump-sum price, including permitting, travel, disposal, and related costs, with a stated $104 permit allowance. Bidders must be Florida licensed and have at least three years of demolition rehabilitation experience; the contractor must perform at least 30% of the work with its own forces. The asbestos survey reported no asbestos-containing material in the sampled materials, but the scope requires appropriate trained personnel and regulatory compliance if regulated materials are encountered.
