Description
The Town of Mount Pleasant is soliciting a lump-sum bid for a complete acoustical improvement project at the R.L. Jones Center Gymnasium. The successful contractor must supply and install spray-applied cellulose insulation to the underside of the existing roof deck throughout the gymnasium, including work around existing ductwork, piping, conduit, suspended equipment, hangers, and attachments. The specified basis-of-design product is K-13 acoustical insulation, installed at the required thickness to achieve an average noise reduction coefficient of 1.05. The scope includes labor, supervision, materials, supplies, transportation, taxes, protection and masking, coordination with other trades, ventilation during curing, overspray removal, debris disposal, and site protection. The contractor must hold a current South Carolina contractor's license sufficient for the work, provide a 100-square-foot mock-up for review, and meet the specified product, testing, certification, and manufacturer-licensed applicator requirements. The work must be completed within 30 calendar days from the agreed start date. Bidders must submit a project progress schedule and at least three relevant references; performance and labor-and-material payment bonds are required after award when the bid amount is $50,000 or more.
