Description
The USDA Forest Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contract to spray designated ponderosa pine trees with carbaryl for mountain pine beetle prevention at five campgrounds and developed recreation sites across the South Platte, South Park, and Pikes Peak Ranger Districts of the Pike-San Isabel National Forests. The estimated quantities are approximately 100 trees at Meridian Campground, 75 at Flat Rocks Campground, 75 at Indian Creek Campground, 450 at South Meadows Campground, and 100 at Blue Mountain Campground. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, permits, licenses, insurance, and incidentals. All applicators must hold current Colorado Commercial Applicator Licenses with endorsement #106, Forest Pest Control. Work must comply with pesticide labels and applicable laws, including treatment of all required bole surfaces, protection of nearby improvements from spray drift, and restrictions on wind, precipitation, and proximity to water. Spraying is expected in fall 2026 or spring 2027 and must generally be completed before campground openings, approximately May 16, 2027. Award will be based on lowest price technically acceptable, including technical capability, compliance with the statement of work, and acceptable or neutral past performance.
