Description
The State of Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is soliciting bids for full construction contracting services to address deterioration, recurring failures, deficient fastening systems, and deck-surface problems affecting a pedestrian walkway bridge. The work includes construction, project supervision, scheduling, site logistics, safety and access control, protection of existing facilities, coordination with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the architect/engineer, and Fort Carson representatives, required submittals and RFIs, quality control, inspections and testing, progress meetings, cleanup, punch-list coordination, closeout documentation, warranties, and correction of warranty deficiencies. Bidders must demonstrate at least two similar projects exceeding $250,000 in hard costs, have operated under the same name for at least two years, provide a surety letter demonstrating bonding capacity up to $300,000 for an individual project, and attend and sign in at the mandatory pre-bid conference. Colorado resident bidders and Colorado labor receive preference, and at least 80% of labor on the public works project must be Colorado labor. The bid package must include the required cover letter, bid form, bid bond, bid breakout form, and direct labor burden calculation.
