Description
The Forest Service is soliciting Operator in Responsible Charge services for the Shadow Mountain Village water system on the Sulfur Ranger District. The contractor must operate and maintain the groundwater-based potable water system in compliance with applicable Colorado and federal requirements, maintain the required Class D treatment and Class 1 distribution certifications, provide supervision, labor, materials, tools, supplies, equipment, and treatment chemicals, and support safe drinking-water delivery. The scope includes year-round operations; seasonal winterization and de-winterization; monthly onsite system checks; sampling and laboratory testing; chlorine, pH, and filter monitoring; tank inspection and cleaning; maintenance of operating, sampling, cross-connection, backflow, and project plans; regulatory reporting and public-notice coordination; quarterly reports; annual coordination meetings; troubleshooting and coordination of repairs; and response to urgent or emergency system needs. The anticipated award is a firm-fixed-price purchase order with a base year and four option years, with performance anticipated from October 1, 2026, through August 30, 2031.
