Description
The Hillsdale County Road Commission is soliciting bids for the furnishing, delivery, and full-width spreading of mineral well brine on approximately 584.25 miles of county local gravel roads during the 2027 brining season. The work is intended to provide dust control and road stabilization. The brine must contain at least 23% calcium chloride and 3% magnesium chloride, and bidders must provide test results for the wells proposed for use. The contractor must apply brine within 48 hours of notification, supply approximately 40,000 gallons per day, and complete the county roads within 60 calendar days, subject to weather and specified exceptions. The scope also includes maintaining daily application logs, providing weekly copies to the Road Commission, documenting delivered volumes, and supplying suitable spreading equipment. Bidders must submit pricing, equipment information, references, firm qualifications, and the required legal-status, non-collusion, and corporate-authorization materials. An alternate liquid calcium chloride bid may also be submitted.
