Description
The County of Maui is soliciting bids for labor and equipment to trim and remove trees within various county parks and recreational facilities. The work includes pruning, crown raising and cleaning, structural pruning, controlled felling, tree and stump removal, stump grinding, chipping, hauling, and disposal of debris, along with vegetation clearance and traffic and work-site safety management. The contractor must provide the required labor and equipment, including at least one 55-foot lift boom truck and a three-person crew, and must have a current Hawaii tree-trimmer contractor license type 27 or 27B. Each section requires an on-site International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist, with Exhibit B submitted with the bid. Work must comply with applicable International Society of Arboriculture and ANSI tree-care standards. The contract may be renewed by mutual agreement for one additional year; most work is expected to be completed within 90 calendar days after the official commencement date. A performance bond equal to 20 percent of the contract price is required at contract execution.
