Description
The County of Maui is soliciting bids for the furnishing and delivery of one or more 8-passenger accessible paratransit buses. The buses must be ADA compliant, accommodate at least eight ambulatory passengers or four wheelchairs, and use a Ford E-450 chassis with a 7.3L V-8 gas engine. Required features include wheelchair lifts and securement systems, corrosion-resistant construction, safety equipment, camera surveillance, and compliance with applicable Federal and State Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The completed vehicle must include three batteries, and approved-equal components may be accepted when they meet the stated specifications. The contract includes additive options for up to 30 total vehicles and other equipment, which may be purchased with the initial vehicles or later. Delivery and acceptance will occur at 43 Hansen Road, Puunene, Hawaii 96784. Delivery is required within 280 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. Addendum 4 confirms that bidders may submit their own compliant floor plans, clarifies vehicle and equipment requirements, and states that Altoona bus-testing certification is required before payment, although it is not technically required with the bid. It also confirms that no DBE participation goal applies and that the County will complete recipient certifications. Addendum 5 approves additional vehicle dimensions and materials and requires acknowledgment of Addendum 5. The bid/offer form must be downloaded, completed, signed, and uploaded with the bid, and Addenda 1 through 5 must be acknowledged.
