Description
The City of Aurora seeks a contractor to demolish and properly dispose of an approximately 6,500-square-foot, single-story wood and light-gauge metal-frame structure with a metal roof, slab-on-grade foundation, and footing walls. The work includes removing footing walls to one foot below existing grade, backfilling with IDOT CA-7, disconnecting the existing water service, disconnecting and plugging the existing sanitary sewer service, and disposing of all demolition debris and excavated materials at permitted facilities. The base bid includes building demolition and utility disconnection work. An alternate requests removal and disposal of approximately 8,500 square feet, or 950 square yards, of concrete driveway and site pavement. The contractor is responsible for traffic protection, dust and erosion control, permits and notifications, site restoration, and completion of the entire project by December 31, 2026. Testing found no asbestos in sampled materials, and no asbestos or lead-paint abatement is required based on the provided information.
