Description
The City of Aurora is soliciting proposals for professional overnight security services at its Temporary Warming Center. The contractor must provide one security officer from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. when the center is activated, along with evening, overnight, weekend, holiday, and relief coverage as needed. Services include access control, facility patrols, resident and visitor safety, enforcement of center rules, emergency response, coordination with warming center staff and law enforcement, and accurate incident reports and daily security logs. Personnel must be properly trained and licensed as applicable, pass required background screening, and receive training in de-escalation, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, first aid and CPR, trauma-informed practices, confidentiality, emergency response, and use-of-force policies. The contractor must provide uniforms, identification badges, communication equipment, flashlights, reporting materials, and other necessary equipment. The warming center is expected to operate approximately 90 nights between November 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027, with the contract commencing November 1, 2026, and potentially renewable for up to three additional one-year terms. Proposals must include a technical proposal, pricing through the electronic pricing table, training and certifications, references, required certifications, and specified forms and attachments.
