Description
Metra is soliciting construction services to grind and mill existing precast concrete platform edges at Homewood and Riverdale stations so new yellow tactile surface panels can be installed. The contractor must remove specified concrete, achieve the required surface profile under ASTM D7682, remove concrete debris daily, protect passengers and railroad ballast, and power-wash the platform edges. Metra will install the new tactile panels. The contractor must comply with Metra railroad safety procedures, complete drug-free workplace and Buy America certifications, and ensure employees complete the required safety orientation. The bid package requires the Contract Proposal Pages, Exhibit J Drug-Free Workplace Certification, Exhibit L Affidavit/Certification and Bid Bond, Exhibit M Buy America Certificate, Exhibit Q Pricelist, and Prime-Subcontractor List. The work must be completed within 60 calendar days after award, although construction cannot begin until Metra issues a written Notice to Proceed.
