Description
The City of Aurora is soliciting a food service provider to prepare, package, label, transport, and deliver pre-cooked, ready-to-serve meals for guests of its Temporary Warming Center. The estimated requirement is approximately 2,700 meals over about 90 operating days, including dinner and protein drinks or bars for morning distribution. Actual quantities may fluctuate with shelter occupancy, weather, and emergency conditions, and the contractor must accommodate increases or decreases in demand. Meals must be prepared in a licensed and inspected commercial kitchen, individually packaged in food-safe containers, labeled with contents, preparation or packaging dates, use-by or expiration information, reheating instructions when needed, allergens, and nutritional information when available or required. The contractor must maintain food safety, sanitation, temperature control, transportation, staffing, licensing, and permitting requirements; provide reasonable vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, and other medically necessary or allergy-related alternatives; and submit a proposed menu cycle, food-safety documentation, a technical proposal, references, a project approach, and pricing through the electronic procurement system. Delivery is anticipated on Mondays and Fridays between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The contract is scheduled to run from November 1, 2026, through March 1, 2027, with up to three additional one-year renewals at the City's discretion.
