Description
Wayne County, Mississippi is soliciting sealed bids for construction of the Administrative Building Handicap Accessibility Project. The work includes exterior and interior ADA renovations to the Wayne County Administration Building and MSU Extension Office in Waynesboro, including modifications to restrooms, parking areas, access ramps, railings, and doors, along with all labor, materials, equipment, drawings, and specifications required for completion. The contract time is 120 consecutive calendar days from the effective date in the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated and special damages for delays. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi law and hold a current Certificate of Responsibility from the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate, and each bidder must provide a Statement of Qualifications identifying similar past projects, references with names and telephone numbers, key personnel, and supporting qualifications. A 5% bid bond or certified check is required; the successful bidder must provide payment and performance bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount. The project is subject to Section 3 requirements, and minority- and women-owned businesses are encouraged to participate. Bids are due September 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
