Description
The University of Southern Mississippi proposes to purchase a Waters/TA Instruments Discovery Hybrid Rheometer HR 30 (DHR HR 30) as a sole-source commodity procurement. The instrument is required for polymer research, including rheological characterization of masterbatch formulations, recycled and bio-based polymers, sustainable materials, and process-engineering applications. The proposed configuration includes the rheometer, Peltier heater, environmental test chamber, software, attachments, installation, and training. The justification states that the instrument is compatible with the laboratory's existing TA Instruments Discovery DMA 850 and ACS-3 Air Cooling Accessory, avoiding duplicate equipment and additional temperature-control infrastructure.
