Description
The City of Lincoln is soliciting bids for a single-prime construction contract to rehabilitate HVAC and fire protection systems at the East Treatment Plant. The base bid includes replacement of three air-handling units, the chiller, seven variable air volume units, and two 1,400 MBH boilers; replacement of VAV water connections, valves, and controls; new digital direct controls for HVAC equipment; updated ventilation programming in chemical storage areas; controls for existing boilers and hot-water pumps; and construction of two ground-level offices with a new exterior egress path and lighting. The work must maintain ongoing plant operations and includes demolition, installation, electrical work, testing, balancing, commissioning, and training. Bid Alternate No. 1 covers fire protection work at the East Treatment Plant and South Pumping Station, including replacement of the dedicated function control system fire panel and duct smoke detectors, along with remote test stations, annunciation, SCADA interfaces, and related controls. Bidders must bid both the base bid and alternate. The specifications require comparable HVAC project experience completed within the last five years, three similar project references, and identification of major equipment manufacturers or suppliers.
