Description
The City of Bostwick is soliciting a contractor for a water line replacement project along SR 83 north of Bostwick. The revised bid schedule includes approximately 3,708 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main, 25 linear feet of 6-inch PVC water main, 50 linear feet of 1-1/2-inch PVC water main, fittings, valves, hydrant assemblies, taps, service and meter reconnections, abandonment of the existing presumed 6-inch asbestos-cement line, and related appurtenances. The contractor must also install approximately 172 linear feet of 16-inch steel casing by jack-and-bore, perform traffic control, utility coordination, staking, erosion and sediment controls, testing, flushing, disinfection, bacteriological sampling, cleanup, restoration, and required documentation. Road crossings within the Georgia Department of Transportation right-of-way must use jack-and-bore installations. Addendum No. 2 confirms a 120-day completion period, requires bid, payment, and performance bonds, and states that no bid-date extension is planned. The bid schedule includes a 10% allowance for additional directed work and authorized rock excavation at $200 per cubic yard.
