Description
The City of Lawrenceville is seeking qualified contractors for the demolition of the property located at 225 Langley Drive. The scope of work includes the complete demolition and removal of all building structures and site features, such as slabs, drains, lifts, sidewalks, septic tanks, underground storage tanks (USTs), fueling canopy, and other abandoned site features. The existing concrete parking lot will be demolished and removed, except for the entrance/driveway apron. The contractor will be responsible for securing the perimeter, installing erosion control measures, grading, backfilling, compacting, and seeding disturbed areas. All demolition debris must be removed and disposed of properly in accordance with Georgia's Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act. The project also involves the removal of four underground storage tanks (two 10,000-gallon gasoline tanks, one 8,000-gallon diesel tank, and one 10,000-gallon tank containing ethanol-free gasoline). The Phase I Environmental Site Assessment identified the UST system as being out of compliance, with 16 violations related to leak detection system testing, financial assurance, operator training, and reporting requirements. A confirmed release from the UST system in March 2011 was granted a No Further Action (NFA) status in November 2012, and is considered a historical recognized environmental condition (HREC).
