Description
This solicitation is for services to clean the Main Diesel Engine (MDE) exhaust piping system, including associated stack uptakes, on the USCGC Hudson. The work involves disconnecting exhaust piping, thoroughly cleaning the interior surfaces to remove soot, tar, and other foreign matter, and reassembling the piping. The contractor will also be responsible for touch-up preservation and ensuring all disturbed surfaces match existing adjacent surfaces. An initial operational test of affected shipboard devices will be witnessed by the contractor prior to work commencement, and a post-repair operational test will be demonstrated to the Coast Guard Inspector. The performance period is expected to commence no later than 20 days after award, with work hours from Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM EST, excluding holidays. Contractors must comply with all base regulations, including security protocols, and only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are allowed on base. A site visit is strongly recommended and scheduled for Wednesday, July 8th, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST.
