Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing a 64-slice, air-cooled computed tomography (CT) system. The anticipated period of performance includes delivery by September 30, 2026, with a firm-fixed-price contract anticipated for award. The system must meet or exceed specific technical requirements, including a minimum of 64 physical slices per rotation, a tube voltage capability of 140 kVp, a tube current capability of 400mA at 120kVp, and a slice thickness of 0.625mm. A key feature is the native air-cooled gantry, which eliminates the need for external liquid chillers. The system must also allow for manual control of exposure and provide isotropic resolution of 0.35mm. Services required include delivery, specialized rigging to navigate the unit into the final scan room, and full mechanical and electrical installation with final calibration. A one-year comprehensive warranty covering all parts (including the X-ray tube), labor, and travel is required, along with 24/7 technical support and a maximum 24-hour on-site response time for critical system failures. Two additional option years for extended full-service maintenance are also anticipated.
