Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Atlantic and Oceanographic & Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing one (1) rough terrain forklift. The forklift must be diesel-powered (Tier 4 Final EPA Compliant), have true 4-wheel drive with a powershift or hydrostatic transmission, and heavy-duty pneumatic rough terrain tires. The lifting capacity must be a minimum of 18,000 lbs and a maximum of 24,000 lbs at a 24" load center. It should feature a multi-stage mast with a minimum 15ft preferred lift height, integrated hydraulics including lift/lower, tilt, and side-shift functions, and a full-width heavy-duty carriage with 72" forks. The operator environment requires a fully enclosed, pressurized, all-weather cab with factory-installed air conditioning and heating, 360-degree visibility, an adjustable suspension seat, and wipers. Safety features include LED forward and rear-facing flood lighting, an amber strobe/beacon, an automatic backup alarm, mirrors, an operator presence system, a fire extinguisher, and an electric horn. The forklift should be painted high-visibility safety yellow or the manufacturer's standard industrial coating. One digital and one hard copy of the operator, parts, and service manuals are required. A minimum 12-month/2,000-hour bumper-to-bumper warranty is required, with options for extended powertrain warranty. Telematics for remote hour-tracking and diagnostic monitoring are optional but preferred. The anticipated delivery date is December 31, 2026, with a firm fixed-price contract anticipated for award.
