NIST is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing new microscopes for its Boulder Microfabrication Facility. The microscopes must support optical inspection of semiconductor devices and be compatible with an ISO Class 5 cleanroom. Requirements include 200 mm travel in both the X and Y directions, manual and computer-controlled operation, and magnification from 25x to 1000x, with a multi-objective turret preferred. The system must include a camera and software capable of producing publication-quality images, controlling system components, and performing image analysis. It must support multiple imaging modes and filters used in the semiconductor industry, including transmission, reflection, darkfield, DIC (Nomarski), and yellow-light filtering. The system must fit on a 3-by-3-foot tabletop and be suitable for use on a pneumatic floating table.
