Greater Hazleton CAN DO Inc. is soliciting bids for the Norfolk Southern Double Railroad Bore and Sanitary Sewer System Upgrade Project in Hazle Township. The work includes labor, materials, tools, oversight, permits, erosion and sediment controls, excavation, installation of 24-inch PVC gravity sewer pipe, a 48-inch steel casing pipe beneath two Norfolk Southern tracks, sanitary manholes, boring pits, restoration, seeding, and related construction activities. The bid breakdown includes mobilization and closeout, tie-in to an existing manhole, approximately 482 linear feet of 24-inch PVC sewer pipe, approximately 290 linear feet of 48-inch steel pipe boring, soil testing and compaction, and labor and material and completion bonds. Bidders must submit a 10% bid bond; the successful bidder must later provide certificates of insurance, performance and payment bonds, and other contract-required bonds. Required submission materials include a bid bond, consent of surety, non-collusion affidavit, equipment, experience and financial statement, guarantee from the pipe manufacturer, bidder acknowledgements, and completed pricing information.
