Description
The Capital Region Development Authority is soliciting sealed bids for a turnkey network upgrade at Rentschler Field. The scope includes removal and disposal of existing network equipment and cabling; furnishing and installing core and access switches, a firewall, network management, fiber-optic backbone cabling, Category 6A structured cabling, wireless access-point cabling, cabinets, pathways, power supplies, and related infrastructure; and connecting the system to owner-provided services. A wireless LAN hardware and software package is an add alternate, while a redundant core and firewall architecture is an additional add alternate. The project requires design and configuration, manufacturer-certified professional services, installation, testing and commissioning, documentation and as-built drawings, training, warranty and support, and event-day technical support for three owner-selected public events during the first year. The revised bidding documents clarify that cloud-based or on-premises network management is acceptable, a single core switch and single firewall are preferred, and the wireless design is based on the depicted access-point locations and coverage areas. Bidders must price the base work and required alternates, provide labor rates and specified licensing, maintenance, support, upgrade, break/fix, and refresh pricing, and comply with prevailing-wage, background-check, prequalification, insurance, bonding, and SBE/MBE good-faith-effort requirements.
