Description
The City is seeking a contractor to furnish and install an approximately 140-by-24-foot (3,360-square-foot) covered shade structure over the front parking stalls at its transit administration building. The work includes the shade structure, pier foundations, clearing and grubbing, and associated labor, materials, and installation. The structure is to be engineered for applicable building-code and wind-load requirements, with specified steel framing and a fabric roof; approved equivalents may be proposed subject to the solicitation's approval process. Bidders must hold a valid California Class A or Class B contractor's license and submit a bid deposit equal to 10% of the total net bid amount. The successful contractor must provide payment and performance bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price. The work must be completed within 90 calendar days after the notice to proceed. The solicitation also requires relevant experience and qualifications, including at least five years of shade-structure experience and evidence of qualifying reference projects.
