Description
This Request for Information seeks capability information from U.S.-owned contractors for the procurement of materials and complete on-site fabrication and assembly of one three-bay, monolithic reinforced-concrete High-Performance Magazine test structure. The work includes mobilizing materials and equipment; designing, fabricating, erecting, and removing engineered formwork; installing continuous reinforcing steel and embedded items; placing and curing 10,000-psi self-consolidating concrete; installing structural sand fill; and constructing three reinforced-concrete doors. The attached draft Description of Requirement provides preliminary dimensions, construction sequencing, inspection hold points, testing requirements, and tolerances; detailed engineering drawings and specifications are expected if a formal solicitation is issued. The experimental structure will be destroyed during testing, and the site will then be restored. Respondents must provide company and business-status information, a capabilities statement, and written answers about comparable project experience, high-strength self-consolidating concrete, formwork engineering, reinforcing-steel installation, self-performed versus subcontracted activities, and overall ability to execute the work. The RFI requests at least two and no more than four comparable projects completed within the past seven years. This is market research only, not a request for quotes, and no contract award is being solicited at this time.
