Description
Sarasota County is soliciting a construction contractor to dredge approximately 77,160 cubic yards over an estimated 33,500 linear feet of Phillippi Creek between U.S. 41 and South Beneva Road. The work will restore the permitted design elevation of -4 feet mean low water and includes dredging the main creek, three oxbows, and an emergent shoal. The scope includes dredge material management area preparation, material handling, transport and disposal, turbidity control and monitoring, site restoration, environmental and protected-species monitoring, hydrographic surveys, bridge and utility protection, and potential riprap shoreline stabilization. Bidders must complete the required portal forms, provide a bid bond, demonstrate qualifying dredging experience, and submit the required grant-related certifications and contractor qualification forms. The resulting construction contract will remain in effect for the duration of the project.
