Description
Preston County Schools is seeking a contractor to demolish and remove approximately 66 feet of existing railing and a 6-foot-high retaining wall, a 37-by-6-foot concession deck, and existing ball-field rail-tie steps, including hauling and disposing of debris. The project includes excavation, sub-base preparation, installation of approximately eight loads of clean stone and permeable landscape fabric, structural stabilization and framing adjustments, a French drain and 6-inch discharge pipe, and construction of a new retaining wall using 22 precast bin blocks and 12 concrete cap stones. The contractor must also install 42-inch-high picket railing with 3.5-inch toe rails in 8-foot sections between posts. Sealed bid packets are due by October 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.; a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 23, 2026, at Aurora School.
