Description
The Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory intends to negotiate a sole-source purchase order for replacement ABB 27kV medium-voltage switchgear. The existing switchgear is being replaced under warranty because of a design flaw, and the requirement includes an upgraded Ultra-Fast Earthing Switch that was not part of the original specification. The notice identifies Rexel USA Inc. dba Gexpro as the original authorized distributor and states that it is the only known source capable of providing the warranty replacement and upgrade. This is a notice of intent, not a request for quotations or proposals; interested parties must submit written evidence of their capability for the Government's consideration regarding whether a competitive procurement should be conducted.
