Description
The Town of Southington is soliciting sealed bids for the construction and replacement of Bridge No. 04560, carrying Newell Street over the Quinnipiac River. The procurement is a federally funded project identified as F.A.P. No. 6131(012) and Connecticut State Project No. 0131-0208, with work categorized under highway, street, bridge, concrete, and structural steel construction. Bidders must submit the Bid Proposal Form, Schedule of Prices, Bid Bond, Non-Collusion Affidavit, and a Bidder’s Prequalification Approval Letter signed by the Connecticut Department of Transportation Contracts Manager. Bidders must have a current sworn CON-16 statement on file with the Connecticut Department of Transportation and be prequalified for Group No. 8—Minor Bridges work. Contractors or subcontractors performing surface preparation or coating application must be certified by the Steel Structures Painting Council. Each proposal must include a surety company bond for at least 30 percent of the bid amount; certified checks are not accepted.
