Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is soliciting a California-certified small business to replace three HVAC units at its Siskiyou Unit Emergency Command Center. The work includes a 3-ton rooftop gas/electric package unit, a 3-ton inverter-driven split-system heat pump for the server room, and a 7.5-ton ground-mounted gas/electric package unit, along with thermostats, disconnects, gas and condensate piping, duct transitions and sealants, seismic restraints, crane or hoisting services, testing, cleanup, and related permits and materials. The contractor must inspect existing site conditions before bidding, comply with California building, mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, prevailing-wage, and public-works requirements, and provide operational testing, third-party inspection results, warranty registration, and final acceptance documentation. The agreement is estimated to begin November 1, 2026, or upon Department of General Services approval, and expire October 31, 2027; the work itself is expected to be completed within six months after the formal Notice to Proceed. Subcontracting is limited to subcontractors identified in the bidder declaration, with crane and disposal services specifically permitted.
