The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has issued a Notice of Exemption for the reactivation of an existing stream gage located on the right bank of the Scott River at Roxbury Bridge, near Hamburg in Siskiyou County, California. This work is part of the California Stream Gage Improvement Program (CalSIP). The project involves utilizing previously installed infrastructure, such as conduit and anchor posts, possibly replacing damaged equipment like staff plates, and activating/upgrading the stream gaging system to a bubbler system. The proposed activities are not anticipated to require additional ground disturbance or tree removal. The stream gage will collect continuous surface water monitoring data, including stage, flow, water temperature, and specific conductance. DWR has executed a contract with the Karuk Tribe for this work.
