Description
The Drug Enforcement Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole-source basis for the destruction of approximately 40,000 pounds of controlled and non-controlled prescription and non-prescription pharmaceutical waste collected during National Drug Take Back Day. The contractor must provide a secure, Environmental Protection Agency-approved facility authorized to incinerate pharmaceuticals and hazardous materials, including mercury from inadvertently collected thermometers. DEA personnel will deliver the waste in cardboard containers, and the contractor must unload and move the containers into the incinerator. Destruction must be witnessed by DEA personnel and completed, including a possible second burn, within a four-to-six-hour period upon delivery. The response should describe the contractor's capability to perform the service; the notice is not a request for competitive quotations and identifies Veolia ES Technical Solutions LLC as the intended sole-source awardee.
