Description
The City of Ames is seeking proposals for professional services to conduct a Phase I Intensive Archaeological Survey and a Reconnaissance-Level Historic Architecture Survey for the South Washington Project Area. The scope includes cultural-resource investigations and report preparation satisfying Department of Housing and Urban Development and Iowa State Historic Preservation Office requirements as part of the environmental-review process. Consultants must propose appropriate subsurface-testing methods and depths based on site conditions, geomorphology, and the objective of identifying potential cultural resources within the Area of Potential Effects, consistent with the Guidelines for Archaeological Investigations in Iowa (Revised 2023), accepted professional standards, and applicable Section 106 requirements. Responses must be submitted through the online portal by the stated deadline. Attachments D and E federal forms must be submitted with the bid. The solicitation includes project references, resumes, field methodologies, a project schedule, and additional-services rates; a notarized Local Business Certificate is required only when claiming local consideration. Affirmative-action compliance forms are required only from the awarded bidder.
