Description
The Colorado Department of Corrections, through Facility Management Services, is soliciting bids for full construction contracting services for the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center Fire Protection System Replacement project. The estimated project cost is $17,700,000. The scope includes demolition and replacement of the existing Edwards EST-3 fire alarm system with an Edwards EST-4 networked addressable system; replacement and extension of the fire sprinkler system for complete site coverage, including conversion of pre-action systems to wet-pipe systems; modernization of all elevators to current applicable code requirements; and installation of an emergency radio communication enhancement system providing public-safety radio coverage throughout the facility. The project requires a qualified prime contractor with at least five years in the same business under the same name, three similar projects exceeding $13,000,000 each using expertise from its Colorado office, and bonding capacity up to $17,500,000. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site tour is required, and bidders must submit the required bid form, bid bond, bid alternates, and unit pricing electronically. The bid bond is at least 5% of the total bid; performance and labor-and-material payment bonds are required after award at not less than 50% of the contract value. Colorado labor, prevailing-wage, apprenticeship, and applicable labor-compliance requirements apply.
