Parks Canada Agency is seeking a structural engineering firm licensed, or eligible for licensing, in Ontario and experienced in viewing-tower design and construction. The project will replace the existing Marsh Viewing Tower at Point Pelee National Park with an approximately four-story pedestrian tower in a marsh environment. The design must address flooding, accessibility, environmental protection, durable and low-maintenance materials, restricted access through the boardwalk, and capacity for at least 30 people on the top platform. Required services include review of existing documentation, site investigation and survey, development and evaluation of three conceptual design options, and a final sealed conceptual design report. Optional services include preliminary design, detailed design drawings and specifications, tendering support, construction contract administration, site visits, closeout documentation, and a one-year warranty inspection. The proposal must include technical qualifications and experience, a design approach, pricing, and the required certifications and forms. The construction cost limit is CAD 1,200,000, excluding applicable taxes.
