Description
The City of Eastvale is commissioning original sculptural artwork for one or more of four permanent exterior concrete pedestals at its new Civic Center, with additional artwork contemplated for three interior City Hall wall locations. The selected artist will develop and present concepts with sketches or renderings, an artistic narrative, proposed materials and finishes, dimensions, and an itemized cost estimate; incorporate up to two revision rounds; coordinate structural engineering certification for wind, seismic, and weight-bearing requirements; fabricate the approved artwork; and provide packaging, transport handoff coordination, anchoring and handling information, and as-built documentation with photographs and maintenance guidance. Final delivery and physical installation will be performed by a separate City-retained contractor. The artist must coordinate with that contractor, provide mounting and handling specifications at least 30 days before scheduled delivery, coordinate final placement approval, and provide technical consultation during installation if requested. Outdoor artwork must be fabricated and delivered before the Civic Center's tentatively scheduled September 2027 grand opening. The pre-proposal materials identify safety, vandalism resistance, weather resistance, ADA clearance, and durable materials as important considerations, including engineering review, anti-graffiti treatment, cleanable materials, tamper-resistant anchoring, UV-resistant finishes, and corrosion-resistant hardware.
