Description
The City of Scottsdale is soliciting a term contract for the annual supply, delivery, onsite storage, and handling of 25% sodium hydroxide and 31% hydrochloric acid for column cleaning at its Central Groundwater Treatment Facility. The contractor must provide tanker trailers, replace them as chemicals are consumed, furnish safety data sheets and certified weight tickets, and comply with applicable chemical, transportation, safety, and drinking-water standards. The scope also requires onsite standby support from the contractor's driver or equivalent equipment operator during weekday cleaning operations, including tanker air padding and chemical discharge at the direction of plant staff. The typical cleaning operation lasts approximately 15 working days and uses approximately 1,000–3,000 gallons of sodium hydroxide and 15,000–20,000 gallons of hydrochloric acid. The contract is for an initial one-year term with up to four additional one-year extensions. The contractor may not subcontract any portion of the work and must provide relevant experience, references, a method-of-approach proposal, pricing, company and staff qualifications, and the required City forms.
