The City of Brandon is soliciting tenders for the 2027 supply of chemicals for its Water Treatment Facility and Water Reclamation Facility. The requested water-treatment chemicals include anionic and cationic polymers, potassium permanganate, high-calcium quicklime, anhydrous sodium carbonate (soda ash), aluminum sulphate (alum), powdered activated carbon, sodium silicofluoride, sodium hypochlorite, and 85% phosphoric acid, with approximate quantities ranging from 2,000 kg to 2,600,000 kg. The water-reclamation requirements include approximately 1,700 metric tonnes of alum and 1,200 metric tonnes of methanol, plus as-required quantities of citric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and anhydrous sodium carbonate. The solicitation is open competitive bidding and is subject to the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
