Description
The California Department of Food and Agriculture is soliciting a public-works contractor to demolish the existing propane generator, integrated automatic transfer switch/panelboard, associated conduits and conductors, and flexible propane connection, then furnish and install a new 20 kW/25 kVA, 240/120 V, single-phase optional-standby propane generator with a Level II sound-attenuated NEMA 3R enclosure, exhaust extension, reconnection to the existing 120-gallon propane tank, new power and control conduits and conductors, and a 100 A integrated automatic transfer switch/panelboard. The work also includes underground trenching, concrete equipment pad construction, grounding, bollards, signage, permits, inspections, testing and commissioning, cleanup, as-built drawings, and an eight-hour owner training session. Station operations may not be interrupted; the contractor must provide temporary power as necessary. The contractor or subcontractor must hold both C-36 Plumbing and C-10 Electrical trade qualifications, and all contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations for public works. The bid must include the cost proposal and the documents listed in the Required Documents checklist, including DVBE participation documentation, labor-code certifications, and the non-collusion declaration. A payment bond equal to 100% of the agreement amount is required if the contract exceeds $25,000. The contract term is November 17, 2026, or the later date of required approval, through June 30, 2027, with no renewal option.
