Description
The California Department of Parks and Recreation is soliciting a general building contractor for tenant improvements in existing Bays G and H at McClellan Park. The work supports the Cannabis Watershed Protection Program, Telecommunications, and IT groups and includes reconfigured office and storage spaces, laboratory and high-pile rack areas, enhanced security partitions, and upgrades to mechanical, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm systems. Related electrical, plumbing, finishes, doors, hardware, signage, audiovisual and telecommunications infrastructure, video surveillance, and evidence-processing and storage areas are also included; no site work is included. The project requires a California Class B general building contractor license, Department of Industrial Relations registration for the contractor and listed subcontractors, a mandatory job showing, and at least 6% participation by certified Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises. A 5% small-business preference is available to properly certified small businesses, subject to submission of the required certification form. The base bid includes a deductive alternate for removing the Bay H electrical scope. The estimated construction cost is $1,000,000 to $1,400,000. The contract has a 635-calendar-day administrative term, while physical onsite construction is limited to a 270-calendar-day work performance period beginning after the written Formal Start Work Date or Notice to Commence Work. Addendum 3 confirms that the contractor is not required to self-perform a minimum percentage of the work, builder's risk coverage is waived, and work is generally limited to regular working hours.
