Description
North Carolina State University's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering division is seeking two 1,000-gallon stainless steel vacuum tanks for a Mach-7 reflected shock tunnel laboratory. Each tank must be suitable for outdoor use and constructed from 304 or 316 stainless steel, rated from -14 psi to +15 psi, vertically oriented, and supported on legs providing 12–18 inches of ground clearance. Required features include at least two 1-inch NPT ports, a bottom drain port of at least 6 inches, two raised-face slip-on flanges for 10-inch pipe positioned 48 inches above ground and 90 degrees apart, and one raised-face slip-on flange for 4-inch pipe positioned 30 inches above ground and 180 degrees from the left 10-inch flange. Drawing approval is required before fabrication. The quotation must be submitted on the university's required RFQ form and include applicable pricing, delivery information, warranty details, and data sheets, cut sheets, brochures, or other descriptive literature. The tanks must meet applicable pressure-vessel safety, OSHA, and state and federal requirements.
