Description
The United States Coast Guard is conducting market research and an industry day for two planned USCGC HEALY modernization packages: installation of one deaerating feed tank and feedwater treatment system with replacement of obsolete boiler PLC and burner-sequencing controls; and replacement of the vessel's electronic steering control system with an open-architecture, commercially available PLC-based design. The steering package includes interfaces with auxiliary and navigation systems, replacement or upgrade of rudder servo amplifiers, rudder repeat backs, rudder angle transmitters, and steering-failure alarm panels, plus cybersecurity support and documentation. The anticipated future work includes engineering and design, ship checks, technical documentation, factory and shipboard testing, removal and installation, cabling, commissioning, onboard training, technical support, and warranty support. The notice is for planning and information purposes only; it is not a solicitation and will not directly result in a contract award. The registration package requires company and attendee information, session preferences, and optional technical questions. Attendance is limited to three representatives per company, U.S. citizenship is required, and attendees must provide specified shipboard PPE.
