Description
The City of Seattle is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to establish a pool of contracts for comprehensive maintenance of existing, or legacy, fall protection systems. The scope includes routine and annual inspections; documentation of system components and pass/fail status; operational checks; preventative maintenance such as hardware adjustment, cleaning, and environmental protection; and minor repairs or component replacement. Services cover passive protection, fall restraint, fall arrest, safety nets, and certain administrative controls. Work must be performed by OSHA-competent fall-protection personnel in accordance with applicable OSHA and Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act standards. Vendors must have at least five continuous years of experience inspecting and repairing legacy fall protection systems, demonstrate successful performance on at least five similar contracts for comparably sized agencies, and be licensed to service at least two listed manufacturers. Bidders must submit hourly labor rates, manufacturer percentage markups, emergency response times, after-hours contact information, references, and required questionnaires and certifications. The City intends to award multiple pool contracts; utilization is not guaranteed, and individual work orders generally may not exceed $200,000 without prior approval.
