Description
The City of Aurora is seeking construction bids for utility improvements associated with a park redevelopment. Work includes underground sanitary sewer, water main, and natural gas extensions; construction of a new Aurora Park pump station; improvements to the Marketplace at Four Corners pump station, including pump replacement; storm sewer and drainage work; electrical and control systems; and related site, grading, and pavement restoration. The project also includes decommissioning the temporary Aurora Park grinder pump station and the East Boulevard pump station, with wastewater conveyance maintained during construction. The engineer’s estimate is $8,700,000. Bids are submitted electronically through Bid Express. The bid requires bid security: either a certified or cashier’s check or irrevocable letter of credit for 10% of the bid, or a bid bond for 100% of the bid. If the bid security is not digital, its wet-ink original must be delivered by the bid opening. The contract requires a performance bond and payment bond, each at least equal to the contract price, and a 10% maintenance bond after substantial completion. The bid package includes a Bid Proposal, bid security, affidavits, a Qualifications Statement with supporting information, and funding-agency forms and attachments. The work is to reach substantial completion within 540 calendar days after the Contract Time begins and final completion within 570 calendar days; two intermediate milestones are also specified.
