Description
The University of Akron is establishing a pool of qualified plumbing contractors for as-needed time-and-materials work across its campus. The scope includes installation, maintenance, repair, alteration, and replacement of domestic hot and cold water systems, sanitary and storm drainage, natural gas piping, backflow prevention devices, water heaters, water treatment equipment, plumbing fixtures, underground utilities, emergency leak response, water service restoration, and specialty plumbing and piping systems. Contractors must provide labor, equipment, materials, tools, safety equipment, and sufficient staffing for routine and emergency work. Routine requests generally require response within three days, while emergency calls require response within two hours at any time. Proposals must include hourly labor and equipment rates, material and subcontractor markups, company experience and staffing information, a stock price list, subcontractor list, exceptions, and the completed proposal and certification exhibits. The contract has a one-year initial term with four additional one-year renewal options, subject to mutual agreement.
