Description
The Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District is requesting proposals from qualified firms to conduct a comprehensive vegetation survey of restoration areas related to the Napa River Flood Protection Project. The selected firm will document the survey data in a monitoring report analyzing changes over time in biological, chemical, and physical conditions within the survey area, using prior vegetation monitoring reports and the Project Mitigation and Monitoring Plan as references. The scope includes interpreting aerial photography at six-inch resolution or better to identify habitat types and their extent; ground-truthing to verify or modify habitat boundaries; documenting floristic composition and ecological parameters at 17 vegetation monitoring transects, including new transects at Napa Creek and a reference wetland; and documenting approximately 190 sample plots as GPS and GIS features. Monitoring indicators will be used to evaluate biological and chemical responses to physical habitat modifications, performance standards, and restoration goals. Supporting data from prior reports and other relevant District-held data will be made available to the selected firm.
