Description
The Monroe County Capital Improvement Board seeks to purchase completed, existing artwork for the Bloomington Convention Center’s permanent collection. This is a purchase program, not a commission; new, site-specific, or not-yet-created work is ineligible. Preferred media include painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, wall-ready digital media, textile or fiber work, and stable mixed media. Small indoor sculpture may also be considered. Work must be exhibition-ready, durable, and suitable for long-term display in a busy public building. The total not-to-exceed budget is $88,320, including ordinary delivery and installation costs, with an asking-price range of $1,500 to $12,000 per work. Artists may submit up to three works, and the CIB intends to purchase multiple works from multiple artists. Applicants must meet the stated local-residency and age requirements. Submissions must include artist and artwork information, images, a short artist biography and statement, a signed residency attestation, and proof of residency. Selected artists will provide a W-9, execute a bill of sale, and deliver the purchased work; those are post-selection requirements.
