Sacramento County Department of Animal Care Services is soliciting multiple vendors to supply commercially manufactured food for dogs, cats, rabbits, and optional small animals at Bradshaw Animal Shelter. Required offerings include non-prescription and prescription or therapeutic diets, adoption-transition bags, rabbit pellets and hay, and species-appropriate diets for small mammals and birds. Products must meet applicable AAFCO nutrient profiles, WSAVA guidance, FDA labeling and safety rules, and the solicitation’s restrictions on raw, freeze-dried raw, grain-free, boutique, expired, short-dated, or compromised products. Vendors must be authorized distributors of proposed brands, provide manufacturer authorization letters, maintain adequate inventory, support weekly indoor deliveries and 24-hour emergency delivery, meet minimum 95% fill-rate and 90% on-time-delivery standards, provide ordering support, and offer substitutions for backordered items. Responses must address inventory, experience, authorized brands, product compliance, delivery and emergency capacity, warehouse and fleet resources, ordering processes, pricing, discounts, and a full catalog or price list. The procurement is a best-value, multiple-award cooperative contract; vendors may propose for one or more product categories.
