Description
Mississippi State University intends to purchase approximately 300 tons of custom experimental catfish feed for an aquaculture research study. The feed must contain 28% crude protein and be manufactured in two formulations: a control diet with approximately 3% lipid and a treatment diet with approximately 6% lipid. The diets must use ingredient sources and production methods representative of commercial catfish feed manufactured in the Mississippi Delta and must be produced in 10-ton batches. The notice identifies Fish Belt Feeds, Inc. as the only supplier capable of meeting the required formulation, regional ingredient consistency, batch size, storage, equipment, and production-schedule requirements. The estimated delivered price is approximately $425 per ton, for an estimated total cost of approximately $127,500, subject to commodity prices. Entities objecting to the sole-source determination must submit a written notice with a detailed explanation and supporting documentation, if applicable.
